And yes, you are right--no matter how you plan, life always is waaaaay different and difficult than we want it to be. Always for our good and God's glory. Because He loves us.
My husband and I have found great encouragement in these verses from Psalm 92 the last several years--
14 They will still bear fruit in old age,
they will stay fresh and green,
15 proclaiming, “The Lord is upright;
he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.”
You have many good years ahead, different and glorious and great altogether.
I think my route is downhill from here.. We feel the same way.
