For what it is worth, I know Thomas Kinkade, am still proud to have some of his work, and grieve for what he suffered and how the public judged him. He fought demons many have no comprehension of and the criticism he faced will be winnowed out before the Lord. Thank you for sharing the article about him. I miss him.

Knowing an artist personally makes their work so much more special. It looks like the documentary mentioned in the article took an even look at Kinkade--this quote from the director is gold:

“If there’s one thing I want people to take away from this film, it’s the importance of treating each other with nuance and compassion."

That comment is one of the reasons I appreciated this article. That is something I have seen so little of, especially from the Christian community. There is precious little grace or compassion offered there in large part. Perhaps that is why we are called to write as we do, to help open eyes and hearts of those so inclined to judge without mercy or even asking to understand the story behind what we see.

I can’t wait for your book, however it comes about. I’m glad you’re turning over the stones you feel God has lead you to. Also, I can relate a little too much to the need for planning and schedules as a mom of preschoolers! 😅

Oh yes, herding preschoolers requires so much energy!

Thank you for the encouragement : )
